I paint objects from observation. Looking for color and light, my focus is as much on the shadows and reflections as it is on the objects themselves, as though the subject matter has human characteristics with aspects that are obvious and those that are less obvious. I prefer to paint my objects larger than life size, designing their arrangements, to give them more presence.
Currently, I'm concentrating on portraiture. I've painted my family, friends and anyone I can wrestle down to pose for me. I hope to have a portrait show soon.
